Sub Flore by Marianne Eriksen Scott-Hansen

Sub Flore by Marianne Eriksen Scott-Hansen
Step beneath the sweeping roof of the Pergola and experience Sub Flore – a sensory installation by artist Marianne Eriksen Scott-Hansen, where large hand-cut paper flowers float overhead like a blooming canopy.
Beneath the flowers, a peaceful retreat emerges in the heart of Tivoli Gardens. Take a seat on the bench below the colourful paper creations, pause for a conversation, or simply immerse yourself in the poetic atmosphere and become part of the floral story.
The title Sub Flore means “under the flower” and is inspired by the Latin expression sub rosa – “under the rose” – traditionally referring to conversations or actions carried out in confidence or secrecy.
The oversized flowers reinterpret the forms of nature and the symbolic language of flowers – a language long used to express everything from love and grief to reflection, and one that continues to communicate meaning today.
