At Havero, the focus is currently on how gardens can be created with plants that thrive under more challenging conditions.
In Havero’s Gravel Garden, trees, perennials, grasses, and herbs have been carefully selected to withstand periods of both drought and heavy rainfall.
The gravel is not only the garden’s surface material but also an integral part of the plants’ growing environment. It provides excellent drainage around the roots, channels excess rainwater away, and helps protect the soil from drying out during hot periods.
Airy perennials and grasses mingle with fragrant herbs, native and nectar-rich plants, and delicate flower umbels. Together, they create variety, movement, and life in the garden throughout the seasons.
In the winter garden, spent seed heads are left standing, providing structure, food for birds, and shelter for insects.
About Havero:
Havero is a passionate plant nursery located on the outskirts of Østerbro in Copenhagen. Specialising in the cultivation and sale of perennials, they offer expert advice alongside a wide selection of healthy, high-quality plants and garden accessories—for both private enthusiasts and professional gardeners.
Time: Staffed daily from 11:00 to 18:00. The garden remains open for self-guided visits outside these hours.
