International Ballet Gala - A Celebration of Dance

Experience world-class ballet with solo dancers from five of the world's leading companies from 28-30. August in The Tivoli Concert Hall.

Tivoli celebrates dance when some of the most talented solo dancers from five of the world's leading ballet companies visit The Tivoli Concert Hall under the title International Balletgala 2025 - A Celebration of Dance.

Tivoli has gathered solo dancers from New York City Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada, The Royal Ballet London, Hamburg Ballet, Kammerballetten and Dutch National Ballet, who will be joined by dancers from Tivoli Balletteater.

The audience will be able to experience highlights from the classical repertoire as well as newer works from some of the most important choreographers from the 20th and 21st centuries, including George Balanchine and John Neumeier.

The dancers are accompanied by Tivoli's own symphony orchestra, Tivoli Copenhagen Phil.

The Danish principal dancer Ida Praetorius performs as part of Hamburg Ballet John Neumeier’s Adagietto, dancing alongside fellow Hamburg Ballet principal dancer Matias Oberlin. In addition, she also takes part in the ballet gala as part of Kammerballetten, where she dances the piece Oenothera, choreographed by her brother Tobias Praetorius. In Oenothera, she shares the stage with The Royal Danish Ballet’s Astrid Elbo and Ji Min Hong.

For the first time ever, dancers from the National Ballet of Canada can be experienced at The Tivoli Concert Hall. The company presents two works: islands by Emma Portner – an innovative love duet between two female dancers that challenges classical norms and explores both physical and emotional intimacy – as well as David Dawson’s On the Nature of Daylight, which delves into the nature of love as something both ordinary and extraordinary.

A performance ticket also grants admission to Tivoli Gardens.
This event is made possible with generous support from the Augustinus Foundation.

New York City Ballet

New York City Ballet has been among the absolute elite of the ballet world for 75 years. The company was founded by George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins, and the company's innovative approach to both classical and modern ballet has set the standard globally.
