Sigurd and the Symphony Orchestra

Sigurd and the Symphony Orchestra
Tivoli Copenhagen Phil
Conductor: Susanne Vibæk Svanekier
Featuring: Sigurd Barrett & dancers from the Royal Danish Ballet School, Odense
Program
Selections from the Danish children’s TV concert series Sigurd og Symfoniorkestret / Sigurd and the Symphony Orchestra.
It’s been 25 years since the beloved Danish TV concert series Sigurd and the Symphony Orchestra first lit up screens and had the whole nation singing along to “Symfo-1, symfo-2, symfo-3.” Since then, Sigurd’s unforgettable songs have become timeless favourites, filling children’s rooms across Denmark with music and laughter.
Now audiences can experience the magic live in Tivoli Gardens, as Denmark’s cherished Sigurd takes the stage together with the Tivoli Copenhagen Phil. For this special concert, the orchestra transforms into a colourful cast of characters – from “Double Bass Lassen-Madsen” to “Trombone Troels” – springing from Sigurd’s boundless imagination and lifelong passion for bringing music, art, and science to life for audiences of all ages.
Sigurd and the Symphony Orchestra is an experience for the whole family — for devoted Sigurd fans and for those discovering the magic of live symphonic music for the very first time. It’s also a joy for the orchestra itself, which steps forward with infectious energy and playful spirit to reveal the great artistic personalities behind the instruments.
The orchestra’s soloists take turns presenting their instrument groups with humour, swing, and dazzling virtuosity, and along the way we’ll meet hunting horns, boat horns, feeler horns, and even rhinoceros horns, before everyone joins together in a rousing chorus of “SIKKE NOGET BRATSCH!” — accompanied by dancers from the Royal Danish Ballet School Odense and a large children’s choir.
Come and experience a concert guaranteed to bring smiles to faces both young and old — a joyful celebration where Sigurd’s generous musicality effortlessly bridges generations as we share some of the greatest hits of classical music.
Please note that the performance will be in Danish, and no translation will be provided.
