Lyngby-Taarbæk Brass Band - magical brass sounds

Lyngby-Taarbæk Brass Band
Conductor: Katrina Marzella

Lyngby-Taarbæk Brass Band takes to the stage in Tivoli Concert Hall with the Scottish conductor Katrina Marzella, presenting brass band repertoire of the highest calibre. Internationally recognised as one of the leading baritone soloists of her generation, she previously served as principal baritone of the legendary Black Dyke Band – experience she now draws upon in her work as an esteemed conductor and musical mentor.

The programme features soloists from within the band’s own ranks as well as both new works and classic gems of the brass band repertoire, spanning brand-new sonorities and beloved evergreens from the treasure chest of brass band music.

Lyngby-Taarbæk Brass Band was founded in 1989 and has since established itself as one of Denmark’s leading elite brass bands. The ensemble comprises around 30 dedicated and ambitious brass players and, since 1993, has won 16 Danish National Championships and represented Denmark at 16 European Brass Band Championships, achieving an impressive fifth place as its best European result. Locally, the band is especially renowned for its long-running Christmas concerts at Christian’s Church in Copenhagen, as well as its grand and popular New Year gala concerts featuring distinguished soloists.
