Well-being in Tivoli Youth Guard
The well-being of children and young people is a central focus in everyday life at Tivoli Youth Guard. We know that well-being is essential for learning, development, and performance, and that children and young people thrive when they feel safe, seen, and valued.
We therefore work purposefully to create a safe and inclusive community where all members feel a sense of belonging and can participate actively. We prioritize strong relationships, caring and approachable adults, and clear structures that provide predictability and security in daily life.
We set high musical and professional standards, always with attention to the individual. Through personalized support, realistic expectations, and respectful communication, we ensure that well-being and performance go hand in hand. At the same time, we emphasize responsibility, community, and personal development, enabling children and young people to build self-confidence, social skills, and experience in contributing to a shared culture rooted in tradition, history, and togetherness.
We place strong emphasis on the perspectives of our members through initiatives such as a youth council, annual anonymous well-being surveys, and individual Tivoli-home conversations with each member and their parents.
With many years of experience in working with children and young people, our youth development consultant, Carsten Kirk Alstrup, is permanently affiliated with Tivoli Youth Guard. He contributes professional expertise and practical insight that support the pedagogical development of Tivoli Youth Guard, where well-being is a top priority.
In addition to serving as a professional advisor to staff and music teachers, he is also a visible and accessible point of contact for the members—a neutral adult they can always approach regarding their well-being in Tivoli Youth Guard.
