Cook Along with the Huntress and Thomas Rode

Game, hunting and culinary craft – learn to work with the whole animal

Take part in a truly special co-cooking evening during the Tivoli Food Festival, where you’ll join Thomas Rode and Mette Jensen – known as “Jægerinden” (the Huntress) – to explore the culinary craft behind game and seasonal ingredients.

The evening begins with the preparation of a roe deer buck, after which you – together with the other participants – will work in small teams on deboning, butchery and cooking the whole animal. Throughout the session, your hosts will guide you through the techniques and share their experience from both kitchen and field.

Over the course of the evening, you’ll learn how to prepare cuts from the loin and leg, create a rich ragù from shoulder and neck, and build a classic sauce using a shared stock – accompanied by seasonal vegetable garnishes. Once the cooking is complete, everyone gathers around the communal tables, where the menu is served and enjoyed together, paired with selected wines.

Participants under the age of 18 are welcome; however, alcohol will not be served to minors.
Valid ID may be required if there is any doubt regarding age.
