Lea Havelund brings together a quartet exploring the borderland between jazz, folk and classical music

Lea Havelund and Mads Søndergaard have created a warm and engaging musical universe, where Havelund’s wide‑ranging voice intertwines with her expressive cello playing and Søndergaard’s vibrant touch at the piano. For OnsdagsJazz, the duo expands into a quartet with Jesper Løvdal’s melodic wind textures and Ale Damasceno’s nuanced drumming.

The music moves through Nordic jazz, folk influences and classical colours, shaped by melodic warmth and space for improvisation. The quartet presents new compositions along with fresh interpretations of existing works during their concerts in Tivoli Gardens.

As part of Jazzy Wednesday, Tivoli Gardens invites Danish jazz musicians to meet in new constellations created specifically for the occasion. The musicians take part in a short artist‑in‑residence format, giving them room to explore new musical expressions across several concerts. 

You can enjoy the sound of jazz on Wednesdays from May to August on Tivoli Gardens’ outdoor stage, the Orangery.
