The Tivoli Youth Guard Christmas Parade through Copenhagen

Experience the Tivoli Youth Guard as they, true to tradition, parade through the city on Tivoli’s opening day on 27 March at 4:00 p.m. Along the way, the Tivoli Youth Guard fills Strøget with festive marches that mark the beginning of a new season in Tivoli.

The parade starts at Kongens Nytorv, continues all the way down Strøget, crosses City Hall Square, and ends at Tivoli’s Main Entrance. As they make their way through the city, the music sets the rhythm for the day and gives passers‑by a taste of the atmosphere that awaits inside the Tivoli Gardens.

When Tivoli celebrates its birthday on 15 August at 2:30 p.m., the Tivoli Youth Guard follows the same route – this time to mark the occasion of Tivoli’s birthday. The parade is a cherished tradition, and the celebration can be felt both in the music and in the special atmosphere that arises as the Guard moves through the city.

The Tivoli Youth Guard consists of around 100 members between the ages of 9 and 16. On weekdays, they attend the Tivoli Youth Guard’s music school, and on special occasions they don their red uniforms and bearskin hats to create memorable experiences both in Tivoli and throughout Copenhagen.
