Copenhagen Made 2025 - Program B

Experience six new dance works created by choreographic talents from leading Danish dance theatres – including the winning piece from this year’s Copenhagen Made: PERHAPS EVERYBODY HAS A GARDEN OF EDEN by Tivoli Ballet Theatre’s own dancer Antonio Russo.

These performances mark the culmination of the choreography competition Copenhagen Made, where the works competed for an artistic prize of DKK 25,000. Audiences are offered a unique opportunity to witness the choreographic voices of tomorrow – performed by a one-of-a-kind ensemble brought together from The Royal Danish Theatre, Tivoli Ballet Theatre, and Holstebro Dance Company.

Program B includes:

What is, is plenty
Choreography by Vincent Vernal
Inspired by the saying, "the grass is always greener on the other side," examining how temptation and the allure of the unknown impact lives. The
choreography encourages reflection on when to pursue new opportunities and when to
appreciate what we already have.

PERHAPS EVERYBODY HAS A GARDEN OF EDEN (WINNER OF COPENHAGEN MADE 2025)
Choreopgraphy by Antonio Russo

The piece uses four literary figures—Marcel from Proust,
Nietzsche’s Übermensch, Jane Eyre, and Oedipus—to explore how love, whether
obsessive, existential, principled or tragic, quietly shapes identity and leaves us longing
for an inner “Garden of Eden” where love begins.

The pieces by Petra Love, Amalie Stitz, Leander Rebholz, and Lauréline Epaulard can be experienced at the Pantomime Theatre on Thursday, August 14 at 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM, as well as on Saturday, August 16 at 8:00 PM.

Copenhagen Made is initiated by The Royal Danish Ballet Foundation and generously supported by Augustinus Foundation, Fritz H. Schur Foundation, Knud Højgaard Foundation, Toyota Foundation, and Ballettens Venner.
