Soloist Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider has unfortunately had to cancel his appearance at the concert on Thursday, May 29th, due to a minor injury. However, we are pleased to announce that the young star Anna Agafia will instead be featured as the soloist in Felix Mendelssohn’s wonderful Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64.
Anna Agafia Egholm is a Danish-Ukrainian violinist, recognized for her technical skill and artistic versatility. She has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the DR Symphony Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, and she appeared at Tivoli Summer Classics in 2024. She has won prizes in international competitions and released her debut album in 2023, which has received great acclaim. She has studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne.
Now, Anna Agafia can once again be experienced in The Tivoli Concert Hall with Tivoli Copenhagen Phil, where she will be the soloist in Felix Mendelssohn’s fantastic Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64.
The rest of the concert program remains unchanged, with Tivoli Copenhagen Phil presenting Richard Wagner’s Overture to The Flying Dutchman and Johannes Brahms’ awe-inspiring 1st Symphony.
Copenhagen Phil’s former chief conductor, Lan Shui, will lead the baton in an almost unheard melodic program.
