Cæcilie Norby & Tivoli Big Band

Cæcilie Norby & Tivoli Big Band
Cæcilie Norby presents a superb concert in the Glass Hall Theatre in Tivoli Gardens, joined by Tivoli Big Band under the direction of bandleader Peter Jensen.
The programme features hand-picked gems from Burt Bacharach’s magnificent songbook, along with select songs in the easy listening genre.
Composer and pianist Burt Bacharach wrote countless popular songs from the 1950s onwards. With hits like Close to You, Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head, That’s What Friends Are For, and I’ll Never Fall in Love Again, he established himself as one of the most important songwriters of all time.
The timeless music of Burt Bacharach, embraced by nearly every genre, meets the uniquely blended style of Cæcilie Norby. This evening promises a perfect pairing: Bacharach’s unforgettable melodies brought to life by Norby’s rich, versatile vocals and the top-form Tivoli Big Band. Norby, admired for her genre-bending artistry, wrote her first song at age six, inspired by her favourite composer, Bacharach. That childhood tune has now been completed as Tivoli by Night—a tribute to her magical summers spent staying up late in Tivoli, the highlight of the season.
This evening promises a perfect harmony: Bacharach’s unforgettable melodies brought to life by Norby’s rich, versatile vocals and the Tivoli Big Band in top form.
