It became an instant global hit and, along with their debut album Southside, Texas secured their place on the world map of music.
Taking is name from Wim Wender’s film Paris, Texas, the band was formed in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1987 by Sharleen Spiteri and bassist Johnny McElhone. Their latest album, Hi, was released in 2021 and demonstrates that Texas is still capable of delivering excellent music.
