The Open-Air Stage in Tivoli Gardens

The Open-Air Stage is the heart of Tivoli, boasting the largest stage in the Gardens. Inaugurated in 1968 as part of the then-restaurant Perlen, the Open-Air Stage was designed by Simon Henningsen, son of the legendary architect Poul Henningsen. The fan-shaped roof structure adorning the stage is a stylised version of a cockle shell, paying homage to the father’s original seashell design which graced the Open-Air Stage from 1942-1949.
