A Herbarium by Signe Kejlbo

Botanical childhood memories and floral fantasies in Plexiglas and paper

A herbarium is a collection of pressed flowers—and the inspiration behind artist Signe Kejlbo’s installation, which draws on childhood botanical memories and floral tales from Tivoli Gardens. Working with Plexiglas and paper, she invites viewers into a sensory experience where the vibrant garden surroundings interplay with reflections of light in a mysterious, almost dreamlike dance.
Signe Kejlbo masterfully recreates the exotic depths and ineffable mystique of the floral world. A graduate in textile design from the Danish Design School in 2005, she now works as a visual artist in Copenhagen. Her practice has led to exciting collaborations with Tivoli Gardens, Frederiksberg Centre, and the Round Tower.
