Born in China in 1987, Yuja Wang currently resides in New York, from where she travels worldwide, performing concerts with the most prominent orchestras in the most renowned concert halls. Yuja Wang will bring music by Debussy, Chopin, and others to Tivoli.

Yuja Wang is a global superstar. She fearlessly throws herself into playing the most difficult piano works and pulls it off with perfection with her flawless technique. She can create drama in the most challenging and virtuosic piano works. Yuja is a thoroughbred musician who has a lot on her mind and can create magic in The Concert Hall. Yuja is also not afraid to challenge herself, for example in the length of the concerts. On the composer Rakhmaninov's 150th birthday, she was recently the soloist in all his works for piano and orchestra – five in total at one and the same concert in New York. Audiences lined up to get tickets to the spectacular concert.

Yuja Wang was born into a musical family in Beijing, China in 1987. She started playing the piano at the age of six. Just a few years later, the tour she went first to the conservatory of music in Beijing and then to the conservatory in Philadelphia in the USA. As a teenager, she participated in piano competitions and had her first concerts with large orchestras. The real breakthrough came when, at the age of 21, Yuja jumped into a series of concerts with the Boston Symphony at the invitation of the legendary pianist Martha Argerich. Since then, Yuja has not looked back. From her residence in New York, she travels around the world and visits the biggest concert halls and the most famous orchestras. She has a recording contract with the prestigious record company Deutsche Grammophon, and when she releases new albums, it is front matter in the classical music world. The latest news is that Yuja has entered a close collaboration with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, where she will not only play, but also lead the orchestra from the piano bench in several concerts.

When Yuja gives a concert, she likes to keep the program close to her body until the last moment. She has stated to the New York Times that any concert program should have a life of its own and represent how she feels at that moment.
