Welcome to Tivoli!
Experience the unique atmosphere of Tivoli
Tivoli is placed in the heart of Copenhagen - right next to the Central Station, Hovedbanegården. For most Danes Tivoli is part of a summer tradition and many remember their childhood visits to the old Gardens.
With the unique atmosphere, the lights, the people, the rides, the concerts and parades etc, Tivoli means different things to different people. Some come here to enjoy the many, fantastic flowers or spend a day with their grandchildren. Others come here as part of an annual tradition with the family where ice cream, rides and having a good time is central. Others again come here for the cultural events in the Concert Hall, at the Pantomime Theatre, in the Glass Hall theatre and the Open Air Stage.
Events and tradition
Tivoli offers a variety of events which are free to the guests of the Gardens once admission has been paid. Among these are the Tivoli Boys Guard parade, the pantomimes, Friday Rock concerts and other musical surprises or shows.
Each year the Gardens are lit up by ca. 120,000 lamps in the summer season and approximately 2 million lights during Christmas in Tivoli. The lamps and lights have been a part of Tivoli since the opening of the Gardens in 1843 and continue to enthral the guests and are a central part of the Garden's charm.
