Hoping to escape Columbine's suitor Harlequin, Kassander takes his daughter and his faithful servant Pierrot on a journey to France – completely unaware that Harlequin has followed them in disguise. On their journey, they meet a Circus with a Circus Director, two Strong men, a Magician and even an Opera singer. They also see girls on the beach and five sailors. They go and eat in the finest restaurant, but nothing lives up to Kassander's expectations.
