In his ballet gala "The World of John Neumeier," the world-renowned choreographer and artistic director of the Hamburg Ballet, John Neumeier, takes the audience on a journey through the stages of his 50-year career. "My world is dance" is John Neumeier's personal introduction to the performance, and Neumeier himself participates on stage alongside the dancers. The evening begins with ballets inspired by music and dance from his own childhood, such as "Bernstein Dances" and "Shall we dance?," initiating an exploration of the diversity within Neumeier's extensive repertoire.

The journey continues with historical classics like "The Nutcracker" and "Romeo and Juliet" – Neumeier's first full-length ballets from his time as ballet director in Frankfurt. Extracts from globally renowned works such as Mahler's 3rd Symphony and "The Lady of the Camellias," both integral to the repertoire of leading ballet companies today, will also be presented. Additionally, excerpts from the signature piece "Nijinsky" will be showcased, narrating the story of the legendary dancer Vaslav Nijinsky's tragic and dramatic life.

The gala encompasses all stages of John Neumeier's artistic development, combined with personal commentary and anecdotes from Neumeier himself. "The World of Neumeier" at Tivoli Concert Hall promises to be an inspiring and captivating experience that we look forward to sharing with the audience.
