Pierrot thinks it's funny to dress up as the Housekeeper to tease Cassander. Meanwhile Cassander has troubles with his daughter Columbine. She is in love with the pennyless Harlequin who Cassander thinks is unsuitable as a match for his daughter. The two lovers get help from the Good Fairy, and not before long Cassander and Pierrot is confronted with Beduins, a Giant, a furious Housekeeper and many witches.
