The Pantomime Theatre

The Steadfast Tin Soldier is Tivoli's fifth Hans Christian Andersen fairy-tale ballet. The three co-creators have previously staged Love in the Dustbin (2001), Thumbelina (2005), The Tinder Box (2007) and The Swineherd (2009).

If you are having trouble remembering, The Steadfast Tin Soldier tells the story of the time when there was not quite enough tin to cast a whole set of tin soldiers, and therefore the last soldier only has one leg. However, even on one leg, the soldier is courageous and steadfast in his adventure, which takes him from the gutter to the belly of a fish, and the love in his heart for the little ballerina on the musical box in the playroom burns more fiercely than the stove.

In other words, we find ourselves in Andersen's universe in which toys come to life: a world in which words can create any scene and fantasy sets no limits.
