This year, Midsummer's Eve falls on a Sunday, which means that Tivoli Gardens invites you to a classical Midsummer’s concert on the Open-Air Stage with the Tivoli Copenhagen Phil.
The concerts are scheduled for 13:00 and 16:00, offering two exceptional performances with the orchestra joined by the remarkable soloists Amalie Dollerup and Caspar Phillipson. Both are celebrated not only for their exceptional vocal talents but also for their roles in numerous films, TV series, and theatrical productions.
Amalie Dollerup is especially well-known for her performance in the TV2 series Badehotellet, while Caspar Phillipson has featured in a variety of films and musicals, including Les Misérables and West Side Story. Recently, he has notably performed as a clarinettist in DR's TV series Orkestret. Together, they will present a selection of heart-warming songs and duets from the Danish repertoire, certain to elevate the mood of the audience.
Beyond these vocal performances, the concerts will also spotlight instrumental pieces. August Finkas, the principal clarinettist of the Tivoli Copenhagen Phil, will grace the stage. As the 2024 recipient of the Folmer Jensen Music Scholarship, he will express his gratitude for this acknowledgement by performing a piece for clarinet and orchestra. These concerts will be conducted by Christoph Gedschold, the new German Chief Conductor of the Tivoli Copenhagen Phil, marking his debut on the Open-Air Stage.
Join us for a delightful summer Sunday of open-air music, showcasing Denmark and Tivoli Gardens at their most enchanting. Expect a program filled with light and summery Danish songs, perfectly complementing the leafy trees and luminous night. You might even get the chance to join in singing a Midsummer's Eve song or two.
