Plænen - The Open Air Stage

The party kicks off when we are visited by the energetic band from Iceland: FM Belfast.

About the band
FM Belfast started as a little Christmas present in 2005. Árni Hlöðversson and Lóa Hjálmtýsdóttir made a song as a gift for their friends, and to their own surprise, there was no turning back. What was initially thought of as a studio project became an energetic live band, joined by Árni Vil and Örvar Smárason, and later also by Björn (Borko), Egill (also known as the Dancing Bureaucrat), and Ívar Pétur Kjartansson (the stage-diving drummer).

FM Belfast quickly gained attention for their relentless and uninhibited party atmosphere, and after conquering their home turf, the band began touring Europe and quickly became a crowd favorite on the festival circuit, where they are still hypnotizing audiences wherever they go. Their traveling circus atmosphere has taken them far and wide, from Japan to Australia to the USA and everywhere in between.

FM Belfast have released four albums to date: How to Make Friends, Don’t Want to Sleep, Brighter Days & Island Broadcast, with new music on the horizon.

This non-stop party is just getting started, and we look forward to being part of the celebration on Iceland’s National Day, June 17th.
