The Gardens

Join us when we celebrate Norway’s National Day – Constitution Day – in Tivoli Gardens for the very first time. We start the 17 May celebrations with a speech by the Norwegian ambassador to Denmark, H.E. Katja Christina Nordgaard. Following this, you can literally enjoy a taste of Norway when the award-winning Norwegian chef Nils Flatmark showcases his culinary talent at a HTH Live Cooking event at the Orangery. Here, he will lend his magic to seasonal seafood and vegetable as well as Norwegian dairy products. We then move from gastronomy to literature, when Danish-Norwegian writer Maren Uthaug and Norwegian writer Vigdis Hjorth meet for a conversation about identity and discus their views of the current relationship between Denmark and Norway. At 19:00, we turn up the volume at the Open-Air Stage when one of Norway’s most popular bands, No.4, performs alongside the Tivoli Ensemble. With such songs as "Lite og Stort", "Låst" and "Farlig", No. 4 has been the soundtrack to everyday life and celebrations for thousands of Norwegians. The Tivoli Ensemble accompanied by Snorre Kirk will conclude the evening with Norwegian tunes during performances at the Open-Air Stage at 20:00 and 21:00. In collaboration with the Foundation for Danish-Norwegian Cooperation, which is supported by the A.P. Møller Foundation, we look forward to celebrating Norway’s National Day – Constitution Day – in Tivoli Gardens on 17 May.
