Emil Obel was just 16 years old when he won Den store Bagedyst (The Great Danish Bake Off) in 2018 as the youngest participant in Denmark ever. Since then, Emil has been busy baking cakes and has, among other things, published several cookbooks on baking and made cakes for non-other than The Queen of Denmark, Margrethe II.
Worthy of both princes and princesses, Emil will bake his favourite cake for us in the Live Kitchen - the classic Danish cake called kransekage. In Denmark, it is usually served on New Year’s Eve, but according to Emil, this wonderful cake should be on the table all year round and enjoyed on all festive occasions.
