Join us on a journey through food history as we explore the proud traditions of Danish food culture.
Together we will enjoy a delicious traditional Danish dinner of pork roast with its traditional side dish, followed by a classic Danish apple cake for dessert. Along the way, food historian Bettina Buhl will entertain us with funny and intriguing stories about old customs and traditions in the Danish food culture.
Learn the history behind the traditional dishes, hear about faith and superstition, learn about the local ingredients and their possible health effects, and about good table manners and proper housekeeping in the old days – all told in an entertaining and amusing way.The dinner includes slices of pork roast with potatoes, pickled vegetables and brown sauce served on platters for sharing at the tables, classic apple cake, 1 glass of wine, beer or soda, and a cup of coffee, tea, or hot cocoa. The bar is open for additional purchases.
