Tivoli's Birthday Concert

THE TIVOLI ANNIVERSARY CONCERT

Saturday, August 15, 2020

The Tivoli Concert Hall

Tivoli's 177th birthday is celebrated with the festive sounds of Tivoli’s very own H.C. Lumbye and his Austrian idols from the Strauss family in Vienna - and with the Danish star baritone Bo Skovhus as guest of honor at the operetta.

15 August at 17.30 & 20.00 in the Concert Hall In 1843, Tivoli opened her gates for the first time, and from day one, the Garden's biggest attraction was H.C. Lumbye and his orchestra performing at the concert hall. Lumbye was the greatest pop star of the golden age, and his polkas, waltzes and gallops were superhits that the orchestra had to perform again and again.

The Austrian Strauss specialist Alfred Eschwé is in charge of Tivoli Copenhagen Phil, and together with soprano Yana Klein and baritone Bo Skovhus he will also present elegant operetta pearls from the Austrian capital - and along the way MC Henrik Engelbrecht will entertain with talks about the wild, old days in Tivoli.

Conductor: Alfred Eschwé. Soloists: Yana Kleyn, soprano, Bo Skovhus, baritone, Mads Dannenberg and Alfred Betant-Rasmussen, xylophone. MC: Henrik Engelbrecht. Tivoli Copenhagen Phil.
