20 August at 20.00 in the Glass Hall. Martin Fröst is known as one of the strongest exponents of the clarinet today. He constantly innovates, challenges and develops the classic music scene. His repertoire ranges from the great classical clarinet works to newly written material, often written especially for him.
Trio con Brio broke through in 2002, winning the German ARD International Music Competition. The trio has continued their success winning several other awards and competitions, culminating in the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award in 2005. They followed the award with a number of concert engagements in the US – and since then they have performed at the most prestigious venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York and the Kennedy Center in Washington. The Washington Post wrote: “The stories are true. Trio con Brio Copenhagen obviously are in the higher echelons of today's music scene.", while The Gramophone simply stated:" One of the best performances of chamber music I have experienced. "
