The Glass Hall Theatre

17 August at 20.00 in the Glass Hall. With Christiane Karg, Anne-Sofie von Otter, Peter Lodahl and Bo Skovhus, this concert features four of the world's leading lied singers.

Brahms wrote the dances in 1868, possibly to express his feeling about his unrequited infatuation with Clara Schumann. She was a composer and a great admirer of Brahms, but at the same time unattainable because she was married to his best friend, Robert Schumann. The result is 18 beautiful and sentimental songs for four singers and four-handed piano.

Featuring: Christiane Karg, soprano, Anne-Sofie von Otter, mezzo-soprano, Peter Lodahl, tenor, Bo Skovhus, baritone, Malcolm Martineau, piano and Marianna Shirinyan, piano.
