The Jazz Composers

Every Wednesday in the Orangery, enjoy some of today's best Danish jazz performers backed by the Tivoli Ensemble under the leadership of conductor Peter Jensen. For this series of concerts in August and September, saxophonist Hans Ulrik has chosen to spotlight jazz musicians as composers. Much of the jazz tradition is based on interpretations and thematic variations of popular musical hits, and for these concerts, a glittering array of themes has been chosen composed by artists such as Bill Evans, John Coltrane, Paul Desmond and Gerry Mulligan.
