Gangspil provide a thorough introduction to every corner of traditional Danish folk music. They play fast quicksteps, pulsing polkas and wistful waltzes from island communities like Læsø and Fanø or the metropolis of Copenhagen. Sonnich Lydom (accordion, harmonica) and Kristian Bugge (violin) have spent years on the road both in Denmark and abroad, amassing plenty of good stories along the way. Their concerts are interspersed with intense retellings of such stories, so you can count on both dancing and laughing along with these two experienced musicians. All very entertaining.
