This year, you can experience a Russian Christmas and a Scandinavian Christmas, side by side in the Gardens. The Scandinavian area spreads out from the Main Entrance, while the area around Plænen - the Open Air Stage - is a Russian Christmas fairy tale. And we will light up even more Christmas lights from 15 November till 31 December.
The new Scandinavian themes, which offer Norwegian, Swedish and traditional Danish Christmas cheer, already greets you at the Main Entrance. From here you are taken to an area with wooden huts decorated Scandinavian style, a traditional Christmas world with a Christmas tree in the Christmas square. Bells on fir trees, Christmas lights and thousands of glass and mother-of-pearl baubles are also part of creating the right Christmas spirit.
Greet the familiar Father Christmas dressed in red, who lives at his Christmas grotto in Pantomimeteatret (the Peacock Theatre). The numerous pixies in various Scandinavian incarnations and 50 Christmas stalls are also a part of the experience in company with the rides – both old and new.
Try the 5 new rides
During Christmas in Tivoli you can try five new rides which are not in the Gardens during the summer season. The Russian Troika, The Siberian Express, The Chinese Lantern, The Swing Carousel and the Music Carousel. Climb on board The Siberian Express which takes you through the fascinating Russian village, feel the wind in your hair on your way around in the The Swing Carousel, or get into the Christmas spirit with a cosy tour on The Music Carousel.
Don't forget to try out The Little Dragon, The Temple Tower and the wild Aquila in the newly built Merry Corner.
Visit the many Christmas stalls
Christmas in Tivoli would not be the same without the stalls which emanate life and Christmas spirit. This year you can go and explore 50 Christmas stalls in the Gardens. They stretch along the paths at Tivoli and are laden with everything from freshly cooked klejners (giant traditional Christmas cookies) to honey cakes and freshly made pancakes. They also offer Scandinavian handicraft products, do-it-yourself Christmas decorations and much more.
