International top bartender in front at Nimb's new cocktail bar
Take one part boutique hotel, one part Tivoli and a twist of a historically unique location, and add one of the world's leading bartenders, and presto! You have gourmet cocktails at Nimb.
Nimb is about to launch its very own cocktail bar led by one of the world's greatest bartenders. His name is Angus Winchester. He was born in the UK, but he has travelled all over the world mixing drinks and managing bars for the past 20 years. Now he is settling in Denmark to ensure that Nimb's new cocktail bar reaches a level to match the best cocktail bars in the world.
The new concept opens on Friday 13 November, and from then on, every day offers unique cocktails created by leading mixologists. The bartenders are leading Danish mixologists as well as international top bartenders such as Jim Mehan (US Mixologist of the year 2009), the man behind one of New York's most fashionable bars, PDT (Please Don't Tell). Jim Mehan is guest bartender during the first weekend on 14 and 15 November.
"I actually thought I had served my duty behind the bar ... but this amazing room and this fantastic house saturated with quality was too much of a temptation," says Angus Winchester.
The gourmet cocktail concept is based on cocktails as a culinary delicacy, much like in gourmet restaurants. Each month sees a new innovative menu inspired by the season consisting of Pre's, Main's, and Dessert's as well as a cocktail of the day.
Furthermore, a superb selection of spirits is available, and any type of spirit in the world may be pre-ordered.
"The entire Nimb house oozes uncompromising quality and elegance, and this quality must also be obvious in our bar," says General Manager, René Jasper Thomsen. "Therefore, we aim sky high in the partnership between Nimb and Angus Winchester with his unique qualities and his network within the world of cocktails."
