The Tivoli Wind Turbine
Tivoli needs 10 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year. We get that from wind power produced by DONG Energy, with whom we have a Climate Partnership. In the Copenhagen suburbs two large wind turbines have been built recently (2009) at the Avedøre Power Station. One of these we call "The Tivoli Wind Turbine".
P.S. We do know that electricity cannot be sorted and so we cannot guarantee that the electricity Tivoli receives actually comes from "our" turbine. But we do believe in supporting the production of green energy by demanding that it be supplied. It costs a little more, but we expect to be able to cover the extra costs with the savings we are finding and carrying out.
The goal is to have saved 10 per cent in 2012 measured against 2007. By 31 December 2010 we were 3.5 per cent towards that goal.
