2006 TIVOLIINTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION
Tivoli Concert Hall 20 – 27 July 2006
Tivoli is launching an international piano competition for young classical pianists coming from all corners of the globe. Twelve pianists aged from 18-30 – selected based on recordings they have submitted of their playing – will compete over eight days and three rounds for the big prize, a total of EUR 35,000 plus concert management with Tivoli Artists Management. The competition will be a recurring event and will take place alternate years. There will be a grand finale concert featuring three finalists as soloists with the Tivoli Symphony Orchestra. The jury deciding the outcome of the competition is made up of John Barstow, a highly esteemed professor at the Royal College of Music in London and an acclaimed competition judge; Bengt Forsberg, an internationally renowned pianist who has recorded with Deutsche Grammophon; and Katrine Gislinge, one of Denmark’s and Scandinavia’s best-known young pianists.
